Short Islamic Story – Maa Ki Dua
This short Islamic story highlights the power of a mother’s prayer and the importance of serving one’s parents in Islam. The story revolves around Prophet Musa (AS), who asked Allah who his companion in Jannah (Paradise) would be. To his surprise, Allah informed him that a humble butcher would share Jannah with him. Curious, Prophet Musa (AS) went in search of the butcher and witnessed his daily routine.
The butcher, after finishing his work, lovingly served his frail mother by feeding her and taking care of her needs. After the meal, the mother whispered a prayer in his ear, asking Allah to grant her son a place in Jannah with Prophet Musa (AS). The butcher smiled at the prayer, unaware that it was about to be answered in the most miraculous way.
Prophet Musa (AS) then revealed his identity and informed the butcher that, due to his mother’s heartfelt prayers and his dedication to her, he would indeed be with him in Jannah. This Islamic story beautifully illustrates the value of kindness, humility, and the profound impact of a parent’s prayer. It teaches us that serving our parents can lead to immense rewards in both this world and the hereafter.
The Prayer of a Mother
One day, Prophet Musa (Moses) (AS) asked Allah, “Who will be my companion in Jannah (Paradise)?” Allah replied, “A certain butcher will be with you in Jannah.” Prophet Musa (AS) was surprised and set out to find this butcher.
After some time, Prophet Musa (AS) saw a butcher busy selling meat at his shop. After finishing his day’s work, the butcher wrapped a piece of meat in cloth and headed home. Prophet Musa (AS) asked the butcher if he could accompany him as a guest, and the butcher agreed.
Upon reaching the butcher’s home, the butcher cooked the meat and softened pieces of bread in the broth. He then went into another room, where an old, frail woman lay on a bed. Gently, the butcher helped the weak woman sit up and fed her each bite with love and care. After she finished eating, the butcher cleaned her face. Then, the old woman whispered something in his ear, making him smile. He laid her back to rest and came out of the room.
Prophet Musa (AS), having witnessed everything, asked the butcher, “Who is this woman, and what did she say to you that made you smile?” The butcher replied, “O stranger! This woman is my mother. Every day, after my work, I take care of her needs first. She always prays for me, asking Allah to grant me a place in Jannah with Prophet Musa (AS). I smile because I think, how could someone like me be in Jannah with Musa, the one who spoke to Allah?”
Prophet Musa (AS) then revealed to the butcher, “I am Musa, and Allah has informed me that you will indeed be my companion in Jannah. This is the power of your mother’s prayers
ما ں کی دُعا
ایک دن حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے اللہ تعالیٰ سے پوچھا کہ جنت میں میرا ساتھی کون ہوگا؟ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ جنت میں تمہارے ساتھ ایک فلاں قصاب ہوگا۔ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو کچھ حیرانی ہوئی اور آپ اس قصاب کی تلاش میں چل پڑے۔
کچھ وقت بعد حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے ایک قصاب کو دیکھا جو بازار میں اپنی دکان پر گوشت فروخت کرنے میں مصروف تھا۔ جب اس قصاب نے اپنا دن کا کاروبار ختم کیا، تو اس نے گوشت کا ایک ٹکڑا کپڑے میں لپیٹا اور گھر کی طرف روانہ ہو گیا۔ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے اس قصاب سے درخواست کی کہ میں تمہارا مہمان بننا چاہتا ہوں، قصاب نے بخوشی اجازت دے دی۔
گھر پہنچ کر قصاب نے گوشت پکایا اور روٹی کے ٹکڑے شوربے میں نرم کر کے ایک دوسرے کمرے میں چلا گیا، جہاں ایک نہایت کمزور بڑھیا پلنگ پر لیٹی ہوئی تھی۔ قصاب نے بہت نرمی سے اپنی ماں کو اٹھایا اور ایک ایک لقمہ محبت سے اس کے منہ میں دیا۔ جب بڑھیا نے کھانا کھا لیا، تو قصاب نے اس کا منہ صاف کیا۔ اس کے بعد بڑھیا نے قصاب کے کان میں کچھ کہا، جسے سن کر قصاب مسکرا دیا۔ پھر وہ بڑھیا کو آرام سے لٹا کر کمرے سے باہر آیا۔
حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے جو یہ سب کچھ دیکھ رہے تھے، قصاب سے پوچھا: “یہ عورت کون ہے اور اس نے تیرے کان میں کیا کہا، جس پر تو مسکرایا؟” قصاب نے جواب دیا: “اے اجنبی! یہ میری ماں ہے۔ میں ہر روز اپنے کاموں سے پہلے اس کی خدمت کرتا ہوں اور یہ مجھے دعا دیتی ہے کہ اللہ تجھے جنت میں حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے ساتھ رکھے۔ میں مسکرا دیتا ہوں کیونکہ مجھے لگتا ہے کہ میں کہاں اور حضرت موسیٰ کلیم اللہ کہاں!”
حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے قصاب کو بتایا: “اے شخص، میں ہی موسیٰ ہوں اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے بتایا ہے کہ جنت میں تم میرے ساتھ ہوگے۔ یہ سب تمہاری ماں کی دعاؤں کا نتیجہ ہے۔”
